Huanghuali is a precious wood from the island of Hainan and has a long reputation in China for having been used during the Ming and the Qing dynasties for quality furniture manufacturing. Its scientific name is Dalbergia odorifera but it is also known as fragrant rosewood.
This Huanghuali mala is strung with yellow beads made of céromel, a stone which belongs to the family of amber. It is particularly appreciated for its colour and its brightness as well as its semitransparent qualities.
